Born in 1979 in a small village in Madhya Pradesh, Sanju Jain completed her Masters in Painting in 1990 from Indore. Inspired by the technique of making paper pulp baskets, Sanju incorporates clay and other materials on her paintings. The mixture is churned and then coated on the canvas to dry with glue from the Babool tree.

What attracts one most in the works of Sanju Jain is its textural part. The  artist takes her thoughts and experiences and transforms them into emotive images, weaving in a sense of earthiness.

Using her brush, the artist evokes an intense feel of the nature, drawing us into her orange sunrise and sunsets. She currently lives and works in Bhopal.
